Discovery - Change - Growth

In its non-verbal way, the body keeps recounting our story. It does not know how to lie or hide. Very quickly it reveals to us our behavioral patterns that produce our life experience. These patterns are the things we do, actions that produce results, produce routines - but we've not been taught how to listen and engage with it. Sooner or later, once we've had enough, an inner voice may shout "Stop! This is not what I want" - "I don't want to walk around in this pain, I don't want to be in anxiety and instability, I don't want my defense mechanisms to spoil my relationships". Within this emerging clarity of desire lie strength and the resources for change.

Questions and Answers

What is the purpose of the sessions?

The purpose is to help you move towards a better life based on your true desires. A life of fulfillment, creative spirit, joy, satisfaction and a sense of agency.

The purpose is to hold for you a space where we could gain new insights that will lead to emotional, physical, and mental learning and growing. The purpose is to develop a physical-emotional communication with ourselves, so when moments arise that rob us of our choice, we’ll know how to address them in an empowering and positive way. The purpose is providing you with practical tools that will bring clarity and resilience, even in the face of anxiety, despair, pain, illness, or other personal obstacles.

In other words - to be able to find happiness.

What does a session look like?

A therapeutic session consists typically of three parts:

  • Conversation - We explore your history, your emotional experience and the ways i which you navigate the world and your life circumstances.

  • Bodywork - Going into the discovery of your physical patterns that are driven by an emotional experience, renewing your body's resources, and providing relief and energy. The resulting effect is an ability to function in ways that were previously unavailable.

  • Integration Talk - A brief conversation aimed at creating clarity around what emerged during the session and bodywork, so that a new perspective can form as you return to your daily life.

Why is there a need for bodily exploration around emotional issues?

What role does a person’s history play in shaping their current reality? We are a survival-oriented being. What is necessary for survival is learned within us automatically and sustains itself without us needing to choose or maintain it. Based on our life circumstances, we’ve accumulated numerous behavioral patterns. The 'why' behind these things is essential, but for most of us, knowing the reasons for anxiety doesn’t free us from the weight of the physical experience or the price we pay for it. The difficulties we want so much to overcome are expressed and go hand in hand with our subjective physical experience. The uniqueness of bodywork lies in its ability to gently yet directly expand a persons perspective so that they could experience their emotional vulnerability in a safe environment.

In other words, if we could learn to act in new ways, different from our accustomed fixed patterns, we will live a life different than our usual one.
